FYI

It’s been brought to my attention that some of you were expecting some sort of an announcement during yesterday’s show. Someone promised you something, and you didn’t get it. Well, I’m not that someone. I never said there would be an announcement about the whereabouts of Russ or about anything. I did say, however, on the air, about a month ago, that if/when there is an update about Russ that I am allowed to disclose, I will. When that time comes, I’m most likely going to be the one to say it – not someone on the internet.

BUT you were promised something and didn’t get it. You’re upset. I’d be upset, too. Hell, I AM upset. I’m upset about a lot of things regarding Russ and the show, but I can’t talk about it. I would LOVE to, but I can’t. Not allowed.

All I can do right now is my job, and that’s what I’m doing. That’s what Alfie, Clo, and Jerry are doing. It’s what a great number of people are doing behind the scenes without any fanfare.

Still, some of you feel betrayed, so you’re “done with the show.” I get it, but I want to make something abundantly clear. I have not, nor will I ever, tease a “major announcement” and under deliver. That’s a hackneyed radio trick that has hurt radio as a whole, not helped it. It’s broadcasting bait and switch that leaves you angry and disappointed. If I am going to make you angry or disappointed, it’s going to be straight up, no tricks.

Some of you miss Russ. I do, too. Some of you miss Old Russ. I do, too. There is nothing I can do to change his current situation. All I can do for him right now is keep the Tree House warm.
